My Gear

This is the gear I actually use — for my photography, my videos, and my creative work. Nothing here is aspirational or untested. If it's on this page, it's in my bag or on my desk. Every link is an Amazon affiliate link — if you buy through one, it helps support my work at no extra cost to you.

Cameras

APS-C mirrorless with fast autofocus and serious video specs

Why I use it: This is my main camera. It's compact enough to carry every day but doesn't compromise on autofocus or video quality. For someone who shoots between meetings and on weekends, the size-to-capability ratio matters more than full-frame bragging rights.

Waterproof action camera with a large sensor for its class

Why I use it: I mount this for behind-the-scenes footage while I shoot with my main camera. It's also my travel camera when I don't want to worry about rain or dust.

Half-frame film camera — 72 shots per roll, built-in flash

Fixed 23mm lens compact with legendary film simulations

Why I use it: I pick this up when I want to slow down. The fixed lens forces you to move, and the film simulations mean I spend less time editing and more time enjoying the process. It's the camera that reminds me why I started.

Lenses

Why I use it: My favorite lens for portraits and detail shots. The f/1.2 aperture gives you that creamy background separation, and honestly — it costs a fraction of the Sony equivalent.

Fast portrait lens with beautiful background separation

Wide zoom with a constant fast aperture — sharp across the range

Ultra-wide manual fisheye for creative perspectives

Filters

Diffusion filter that softens highlights without losing sharpness

True color variable ND — essential for video in daylight

Audio

Compact wireless mic system with great range and clarity

Why I use it: Clean audio in a tiny package. I clip one transmitter on, drop the receiver in my camera, and forget about it. It just works.

USB condenser mic for voiceovers and desk recording

Light & Flash

Why I use it: My key light for all indoor video. 60 watts is enough for most setups, and the Bowens mount means I can use any modifier I want.

Desktop panel light with app control

Tiny on-camera flash for quick fill and creative lighting

TTL speedlight for on and off-camera flash

Triggers off-camera flashes from the hotshoe
